Welcome to Lemonade, v5.0

Hi. We’re Lemonade, a creative agency in NOHO New York City. Welcome to our new website. This site (and all the client work displayed here) is a showcase of what we live and breathe to do: create, strategize, innovate. We’re art kids who, at some point, became obsessed with technology. Then fashion. And music. Now we combine all of our mixed influences to approach marketing challenges from new angles, driving toward the best solution. Some of our ideas are outside the box, but our mantra is always “creativity for business growth”.

This Friday at Ed. Varie..

EdVarie

Ed. Varie has been putting out some great shows lately and we’re sure this one curated by photographer Winslow Laroche is going to be a hit. Plus, we’re really feeling this flyer with the summer vibes..

Nostalgia, Revisited

Despite our work in the digital realm, we’re huge fans of any form of printed matter at Lemonade. (Well, maybe not junk mail.) Kerry Mansfield’s project “Expired” is a series focusing on discarded and withdrawn library books between the 1960s and 1990s. You can practically smell the old dusty pages..

Daily Jam

Although the weather in NYC today doesn’t match the mood of Nick Drake’s sorrowful tunes, we’re honoring what would have been his 65th birthday with this song. Enjoy..

We are Proud to Announce…

Lemonade NY has partnered up with Armani Exchange to re-imagine, re-design, and re-build their e-commerce website. Expect to see some major changes and enhancements over the next year!

Pencil to Pixel

Today, we took a field trip to refresh our knowledge on the origins of casting type in the good ole days (notably, Monotype vs Linotype), and the transition into the digital webfont phenomenon. Highlights included hand-drawn renderings of Gil Sans by Eric Gil himself, lots of letterforms, iPhone panoramic experimentations and a good excuse to get out of work for an hour.

Awesome Tapes / Jam of the Day

Brian Shimkovitz of Awesome Tapes is that one person who is out there doing the ground work that record labels all over the world are referencing for inspiration as they reissue old African disco, funk and high life. From time to time we look to his incredible site for a daily soundtrack. Here is a song from the latest record available from Awesome Tapes.

Currently Brian can be found in Berlin where he DJ’s this great music often. Enjoy!

Projection

In conjunction with Vimeo and Culture Shock Marketing, we present PROJECTiON, a curated series of contemporary moving images.

We developed a brand identity that would stand out in the Vimeo community and get artists interested in the Project. We took the idea that Projection can be broken up into Project – i (information) – on, and gave it a retro twist.

UFO Summer Party

How to Start Living and Stop Worrying

Teamed up with Polity Books to create an interesting and powerful piece of video media to promote the release of philosopher Simon Critchley’s new book. “Clowns” was conceived to highlight the idea presented in the book, that people are continually running from the absurdity of life.
